"The entire process of building our custom home was an enjoyable experience.  Art maintains a critical focus on the foundations of the homes he builds as well as the waterproofing.  Art believes in ensuring that the concrete and steel in the foundation is stronger than required by local codes.  To illustrate the benefit of this, at the five year anniversary of moving into our home, we have no wall cracks which would indicate that settling has occurred!  And even during hurricane Isabel, our crawl space remained dry thanks to the planning done by Art to route water away from the structure.  The subs utilized by Avent Homes are superb, and we continue to choose them any time we need modifications or repairs.  Our house was ready on time and was immaculately cleaned.  Art does a final financial reconciliation at the end of the construction process, and in our case, as a net result of the additions and deletions we made during construction, we received a refund check from AHI.  How many builders do you know that will do that?!  Art Avent is one of the most honest and personable individuals we have met, and we are truly blessed that we were able to have him build our home." - Bob & Leslie
